What happens after downloading?
Open hush·hush and follow the one-time setup: choose a hotkey, set permissions, activate your license, and download the local speech and organizing models. Model download can take a while, but it only happens once. After setup, dictation, Smart Fix, and organizing run on your device.
Why does hush·hush need Apple silicon?
The speech and organizing models are optimized for Apple silicon, including the Apple Neural Engine. Intel-based Mac computers are not supported.
Does hush·hush work offline?
Yes. After setup and license activation, dictation, Smart Fix, and organizing run on your device. A connection is needed for setup, license activation, updates, and periodic license checks.
Why does setup download models?
hush·hush uses local models so your voice stays on your device. The app downloads and verifies them during setup, then uses the local copies for dictation and organizing.
